Welcome to Drake Hotel

The Drake Hotel, located at 235 Eddy St in San Francisco, stands apart from traditional hotels as a unique transitional housing facility. With a rating of 3.8, it serves a very specific community—primarily individuals on probation seeking a structured, supportive environment to rebuild their lives. This is reflected in the consistent feedback from residents who appreciate the quiet, respectful atmosphere and the emphasis on stability and personal growth.

Unlike conventional hotels, the Drake Hotel offers Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units rather than typical hotel rooms. Residents enjoy private kitchens, though showers are communal, located in hallways. This setup fosters a sense of community while balancing privacy and practical living arrangements.

One striking aspect of the Drake Hotel is its integration with a supportive network, linked closely to legal and rehabilitation services such as ADP and THC’s New Horizons program. Rent contributions operate similarly to a savings plan, incentivizing residents to complete their tenure and reintegrate successfully into society.

The absence of typical hotel amenities like a restaurant, fitness center, or pool is overshadowed by the hotel's practical offerings—Wi-Fi access is notably absent, a point residents frequently mention as an area ripe for improvement. Parking is available, catering to those who rely on personal transportation.

Situated in a gritty, artistic district known for speakeasy-style bars, historic theaters, and the culturally vibrant Little Saigon neighborhood, the Drake Hotel places its residents in the heart of a lively yet grounded urban environment. This location offers ample opportunities for exploration and engagement outside the hotel’s walls.

In reflecting on the Drake Hotel, it is clear that it fulfills a vital social role beyond hospitality. It provides shelter, structure, and hope to those facing challenges, emphasizing dignity and community over luxury. This nuanced approach makes the Drake Hotel more than a place to stay—it is a foundation for new beginnings.

A great place for probationers to start over with a structured foundation, stability, and a healthy support network around us to become productive members of society again!

This is not a hotel. This is only housing offered through ADP. You can apply and get on the list with THC through your PO for "New Horizons" and when you complete your year or satisfy the courts and exit...the money you contributed for rent is returned to you as a type of savings plan.

I actually like it here, it is very quiet and peaceful, there is only one thing that I feel must be changed and that is NO WiFi ACCESS!
